Propofol

ยาสลบฉีดเข้าหลอดเลือดดำออกฤทธิ์สั้น เสริมการทำงานของ GABA-A receptor ทำให้สงบและสลบเร็ว; ไม่มีฤทธิ์ระงับปวด; metabolize เร็วจึงฟื้นเร็วและเหมาะทำ CRI

• นำสลบ (induction) ทางหลอดเลือดดำในสุนัขและแมว และใช้เป็น CRI สำหรับคงสภาพสลบ; ฟื้นตัวเร็ว เหมาะกับหัตถการสั้นหรือสัตว์ที่ต้องการฟื้นเร็ว^{[1] [2]}

• ระวังในสัตว์ที่มีภาวะช็อก ความดันต่ำ หรือหัวใจล้มเหลว (กดการทำงานหัวใจและหลอดเลือด); ฉีดเร็วเกินไปทำให้หยุดหายใจ^[2]

• กดการหายใจ (apnea หากฉีดเร็ว), ความดันโลหิตต่ำ; ในแมวการให้ซ้ำหลายวันอาจเกิด Heinz body anemia; อาจพบ excitement ช่วงนำสลบ^[2]
